Jessica Simpson brought star power to the “All’s Fair” premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, wearing a sleek black latex dress by Vex.
The 45-year-old, a newly single mother of three, wowed in the figure-hugging, floor-length design, which featured a high slit and a plunging neckline that fell close to her belly button.
She accessorized with a layered diamond necklace that drew even more attention to her bold décolletage, statement rings, a wavy half-up hairstyle, dramatic silver nails, and strappy Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
Simpson will return to the spotlight in Ryan Murphy’s buzzy Hulu courtroom drama, which premieres on November 4th. The series follows a group of powerful female divorce lawyers, including Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts and Niecy Nash, as they leave male-dominated firms to start their own independent practice.
Simpson makes a cameo appearance as a “very crazy” character who, as previously teased on “Extra,” is “a little bit insane.” The role required her to wear a prosthetic leg for eight hours a day, and was her first major on-screen acting job since 2014.
Working with Kardashian was a natural for the pop star. The two are neighbors in real life and their daughters, Maxwell, 13, and North, 12, are best friends.
“It felt kind of natural being on set,” Simpson said on “Entertainment Tonight” in the spring. “We had fun working together. She did all the lawyer talk and I did all the complaining.”
Her most recent red carpet appearance took place in the year of Simpson’s reinvention. She announced her separation from husband Eric Johnson in January after 10 years of marriage.
That’s when Page Six learned for the first time that the couple was dealing with “trust issues” that were “driving a wedge between them.”
Since then, the “Take My Breath Away” singer has been living the best single life. In July, she told Jenna Bush Hager on the Today show exactly what she wants in her next relationship: “He has to be a really good kisser. For me, that’s the most intimate thing. Grab my face and pull me close!”
She also made a triumphant return to the MTV VMAs in September after 19 years, wearing a sheer Christian Siriano dress to promote her new country music.
Simpson is also performing live music again for the first time in more than a decade, with a series of shows this fall in support of his two EPs, “Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1” and “Pt. 2.”
