Exhale.
Jessica Simpson confused fans after going out to VMAS 2025 on Sunday.
The pop star was surprised by the Christian Syriano gown, but what people were talking about was her unrecognizable appearance.
“Is it Jessica Simpson? She doesn’t look like her! But she looks great. I’m trying to figure out who this looks like.”
“I know that’s not Jessica Simpson,” the second commented, while the third commented, “Is Jessica Simpson in the room with us?”
Other fans thought the singer looked like a much younger star.
“I thought it was Addison Ray of the SEC,” he wrote on Instagram, comparing Simpson to the 24-year-old Tiktok star-turned musician.
“I thought it was Nader at first,” another wrote, referring to Brooks Nader, 28, an illustrated model for sports.
The fashion designer has disrupt fans more after giving her longtime friend Ricky Martin the first ever Latin Icon Award.
“It appears that Jessica Simpson had an allergic reaction to an expired sea chicken,” one fan joked on X, referring to her infamous moments on her reality TV show, “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.”
Others theorized that her dramatic change in appearance was due to too many facelifts and fillers.
“Jessica Simpson went and got (a) a fierce facelift,” another wrote, “Jessica Simpson… Her face is being pulled tightly.”
“I hope Jessica Simpson girls don’t do surgery anymore. Girls stop that fake face,” one user pleaded.
However, some fans defended Simpson’s new look. “Jessica Simpson looks amazing.
“People are talking so much about Jessica Simpson’s appearance. She looks stunning! She’s 45. We’re not in the 2000s anymore,” another declared.
In December 2024, Simpson also questioned why she looked so different when she shared an Instagram photo promoting her first album in over a decade.
“This is a girl,” one fan asked in the comments section at the time. Another said to her, “Wow, you don’t look like Jessica.”
The “with You” hitmaker, who lost 100 pounds after changing her diet, was very transparent about the cosmetic procedures she had undergone and the negative experiences she had come with them.
In her 2020 memoir, “The Open Book,” Simpson revealed that she had been tummy tucked twice despite a doctor’s warning that she “could die.” The latter surgery led to an infection and was hospitalized for nine days.
“You can say that plastic surgery doesn’t cure the contents,” she wrote. “Really, it’s about how you feel emotionally. And after those stitches came out, I was still as hard as myself. I still had something to do.”
