UK-based sales and distribution company Blue Finch Films has acquired worldwide rights to Imposters, a sci-fi thriller that marks Caleb Phillips’ feature directorial debut.
The film will have its world premiere in the Midnighter section at SXSW 2026. The main characters are a couple whose young son is kidnapped. When a distraught mother discovers a way to get her son back, her husband becomes increasingly suspicious that the child she brought home may not actually be their son.
Jessica Rothe (“Happy Death Day”), Charlie Barnett (“Russian Doll”) and Yul Vazquez (“Severance”) also star in the project. Phillips, who also wrote the screenplay, previously directed the short “Other Side Of The Box,” which won awards at SXSW and BiFan.
Imposters is the first feature produced by Thomas Bond and Sarah Seligman through their company Broken Pig Productions. Joe Bandelli of the Marylouz Boys, known for his work on the Hell House LLC series, is also a producer.
“‘Imposters’ is a mystery thriller inspired by my parents,” Phillips said. “This film explores how much damage two people can do to themselves and the world around them when they refuse to change. I’m thrilled to be returning to SXSW. I can’t think of a better festival to premiere my debut film.”
Mike Chapman of Blue Finch Films called the film “an inventive and thrilling debut from Caleb Phillips, securing him as a bold new voice in the genre.”
The company’s international productions also include the Rotterdam-selected horror “Bowels Of Hell” and “Dolly,” which premiered at Fantastic Fest.
