Jesse Ware has joined the BAFTAs.
The award-winning singer-songwriter will take to the stage at the BAFTAs later this month to perform a special tribute song in the tribute section.
“I am so honored to be performing at the BAFTAs at such an important and special moment to remember the people and legends who have died this year,” said Ware. “I sing songs from my favorite movies by my favorite artists, and I can’t wait to get on stage with such talented people.”
Ware will join previously announced singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Lei Ami (best known as the singing voices of Rumi, Mila, and Zoe) from Netflix’s hit KPop Demon Hunters to perform the film’s record-breaking anthem, “Golden.”
“We are honored to welcome Jessie Ware and her extraordinary talent to the EE BAFTA Film Awards next weekend,” said Emma Bear, Executive Director of Awards and Content at BAFTA. “In honor of those in our industry we have sorely lost, her beautiful and moving performance will provide a special moment for audiences both indoors and at home.”
Ware’s performance comes ahead of the April 10 release of her latest album, Superbloom, which includes her latest single, “I Could Get Used to This.” Her last album, “That! Feels Good!”, debuted at number 3 on the UK Official Albums Chart and set her all-time record on the US Top Album Sales Chart.
The British Academy Film Awards ceremony will be held on February 22nd and will be hosted by Alan Cumming.
