Jeremy Ray Taylor had his London Calling co-star Josh Duhamel look up to while filming.
The Goosebumps actor, 22, spoke to PEOPLE at the September 15 premiere of his new film about what surprised him most about working with Duhamel and whether the Off the Grid actor, 52, taught him anything behind the scenes.
“I think it’s about learning how an experienced actor like him works,” Taylor said. “And it was incredible to see people like him and Aiden Gillen and Rick Hoffman do what they do.”
“They’ve been in this industry longer than I’ve been alive,” he continued. “So I have to respect their work ethic and, you know, what they’ve done for the industry.”

Taylor may have learned a thing or two from watching Duhamel behind the scenes, but she also revealed that she taught the Shotgun Wedding star a few things. In the movie, Duhamel’s character, Tommy, teaches Duhamel how to drive manually, but Taylor said their roles were actually reversed.
“…I taught him how to drive a manual,” Taylor said. “So the car we actually shot was an automatic, not a manual. So we had to make it look like a manual.”
He also revealed what it was like filming with Duhamel, whom he had seen on screen for years before co-starring, and said the experience was “absolutely incredible.”
“I grew up with ‘Transformers,’ so obviously I was a huge fan of his. It’s like a bucket list thing. It’s just amazing,” he explained.
“The chemistry you see on screen is all real. And people keep asking me, what did I do to prepare for that? Someone like Josh isn’t just a great guy. It just worked,” he added.

The actor, who rose to fame as Ben Hanscom in the 2017 film adaptation of R.L. Stine’s novel Goosebumps, also told PEOPLE whether he plans to return to the world after starring in 2018’s Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.
“Yes, absolutely. I would love to do that,” Taylor said. “If I get goosebumps, I’ll definitely be there.”
“It’s the same with the IT sequels,” he added. “I’ve always loved the projects I’ve been involved with.”
