Jenny McCarthy is currently healing from a severe infection that caused her teeth to fall out.
In a new interview with People magazine published Wednesday, McCarthy revealed that he has undergone nine mouth surgeries this year alone.
“I had a series of infections and a tumor appeared in my eye,” she explains, adding, “My teeth fell out and my implants fell out.”
Ms McCarthy, 53, explained that doctors discovered she had a deep bone infection due to a chip in her jawbone.
“I’ve been on antibiotics for a year and had to eat only soft foods,” she said.
The “Santa Baby” actress shared a holiday card photo of her and husband Donnie Wahlberg looking toned in a red bikini. McCarthy believes that because of her slender frame, the stitches made it difficult for her to eat properly.
“I had two more mouth surgeries after that photo was taken,” she said, adding, “I was pretty unlucky.”
Fortunately, McCarthy said he is now “able to bite again.”
“But just when I thought it was cured, it came back and my jaw was swollen and I was in a lot of pain. At the same time, a tumor was starting to form in my eyeball,” she said.
“People should actually feel a little sorry for me!”
McCarthy is now on the mend and is looking forward to spending more time with Wahlberg.
“It was a little difficult and exhausting to get together,” she said, noting that she was busy filming “The Masked Singer” in Los Angeles while Wahlberg was in Canada for the police drama “Boston Blue.”
“So this has been tricky and difficult. So this year Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to mean more to us than ever before. It’s just me and him at home in Chicago, I’m cooking the bird and we’re enjoying each other’s company.”
She’s also excited to finally be able to eat all the festive food.
“Looks like the storm has passed,” she said. “We’re almost going to eat!”
McCarthy previously told Page Six that she and Wahlberg have a family tradition of making French green bean casserole for the holidays.
“It’s no surprise that Donnie and I grew up with this movie and loved it, because we both grew up on a budget,” she told Us in 2019.
“It was something that our family had to have at the dinner table, so we continued that tradition with the whole family.”
