Jennifer Lopez has downplayed her divorce from Ben Affleck, accusing her of being cruel to a fan named Ben after he joined her on stage during her Las Vegas residency over the weekend.
“Look at this guy,” the “On the Floor” hitmaker said as he invited the audience to join him and his backup dancers in video footage obtained by DeuxMoi on Monday.
“We’re going to embrace everything he has,” she joked.
When a fan approached Lopez, the star asked for her name. At that point, he stepped into the microphone and revealed his name was Ben.
Lopez immediately responded, “Uh-huh!” He then made a glum face before laughing off the exchange and ushering fans behind the curtain.
This isn’t the first time Lopez has teased her past relationships. Earlier this month, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, 56, proved she’s a good sport when she joked about her divorce from Marc Anthony on stage at her Las Vegas residency.
“After my third divorce, things really started to get better,” Lopez quipped about her marriage to the Puerto Rican singer, who divorced in 2014.
“Seriously, that’s not funny,” the Grammy nominee continued, adding, “It’s actually been a really tough time,” according to a video shared online.
After their split, Lopez, who dated Affleck from 2002 to 2004, rekindled her romance with the “Good Will Hunting” star in April 2021 and married the following year. However, by August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce.
During a conversation with Nikki Glazer in Interview Magazine in October 2024, Lopez told the comedian that she doesn’t regret her decision to step away from acting.
“Not one second,” she admitted. “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost kick me out for good. It almost did. But now I’m on the other side of it and I’m like, ‘Huh, that’s exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I’m sorry it took so long. I’m sorry you had to go through this to me so many times.'”
In the latest update, the “Hustlers” star admitted that two years after his fourth divorce, he is currently in “happy times.”
“I think for the first time in my life, I feel free, I feel like I’m on my own, and it feels really good,” Lopez exclaimed in a teaser clip for her Nightline interview, which aired on Good Morning America in March.
“Instead of being so hard on myself and always trying to prove myself, I started to really trust myself and value myself a little bit more,” Lopez admitted, recalling that she had to “quit everything” and “take a year off from work” in order to properly heal the wounds of her divorce.
