Jennifer Lopez has responded to rumors that Alex Rodriguez called off their engagement after he slid into Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy’s DMs.
Lopez was playing “Plead The Fifth” on Wednesday night’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” when the host pressed her about the long-swirling gossip about the Bravolebrity and former baseball player.
“If you don’t ask me the next question, the Bravoverse will kill me,” Cohen said. “At the Southern Charm reunion a few years ago, it was talked about that your ex A-Rod had sent a DM to one of the cast members.”
Cohen explained that there was “a lot of speculation” that these DM allegations “somehow led to their breakup,” before asking if Lopez could finally address the reports.
Mr. Lopez, 56, paused for a moment to consider the question before giving a hesitant, roundabout response.
“You know, I have nothing to say about my personal life anymore,” she said with a laugh.
“I feel like it’s over,” she added.
The audience erupted in applause at the singer’s modest response, and cheered her, saying, “Yes! Please support us!”
The “On the Floor” singer and former New York Yankees, 50, began dating in 2017. A source confirmed to Page Six at the time that the two were “really into each other because they had a lot in common.”
They started playing in public, and by the following year, they were playing with children from previous relationships.
After dating for two years, they announced their engagement in March 2019.
Although wedding plans were put on hold due to the 2020 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it seemed like things were still going well for the couple.
Things took a turn in 2021 when Southern Charm star Danny Baird claimed that LeCroy, 35, FaceTimed Rodru Iguez.
A source close to the former MLB star told the Post that nothing happened between the two, saying, “Look, does this mean he didn’t DM her or like a photo or two? I don’t think so, but he doesn’t know her and definitely didn’t have a relationship with her.”
Cohen questioned LeCroy about the reality show’s Season 7 reunion, and LeCroy eventually admitted that although he had communicated with the baseball player through Instagram, he had never “flew to Miami” to contact him. (A-Rod was living in Miami with J.Lo at the time.)
In March 2021, sources confirmed to Page Six that Lopez and Rodriguez had ended their engagement and separated due to the scandal.
“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they ultimately broke up,” our source said. “There was already a problem, but Jennifer found it very embarrassing.”
Lopez moved on from their breakup by rekindling her relationship with Ben Affleck in the 2000s. They got married in 2022, but their marriage ended two years later.
She appears to be single at the moment, but she told WWHL that her “Office Romance” co-star Brett Goldstein is “the best kisser.”
