Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were reunited at the New York premiere of the film Kiss of the Spider Woman. Affleck is an executive producer along with Matt Damon. Affleck praises Lopez’s performance, calling her “great” and saying she was “born” to play the role.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had a red carpet reunion in New York City.
On October 6th, the once married couple attended the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman. The musical film stars Lopez. Affleck, along with Matt Damon, is executive producer through the company’s artist equity.
She wore an elaborate Harris Reed carved gown with diamond earrings, but he kept it simple in a navy blue suit.
On the red carpet, Affleck talked about Lopez’s performance. “Jennifer is like the kind of role she was born to play,” he told Extra. “She’s great in the movies.”
He continued. “Jennifer’s involvement was very early on, and it was clear that she would die or be very great. She was trying to give it all. She worked very hard. You can see all of this role. She’s the whole spirit of playing a character with a great title, but that’s not a surprise to anyone.”
Before the screening, Lopez thanked Affleck for making the film. “Thank you, Ben,” she said. “This film wouldn’t have been made without Ben and the artist’s fairness.”
In an interview with Variety in January 2025, Lopez expressed that she always wants to appear in musicals. “I’ve been waiting for my whole life to be able to do a really big MGM Hollywood musical, and I’ve finally got to do it,” she said. “I went into the film for West Side Story. I was thinking about doing Broadway. I wanted to do musicals. I love musicals. My kids love musicals.
