Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about her unexpected presence on TikTok. The actress said she participates in pop culture discussions in the comments section of the app. This revelation was made during a recent interview with Robert Pattinson to promote his new film Die My Love.
In between red carpets and movie premieres, Jennifer Lawrence found an unexpected pastime in debating with strangers online.
While promoting her new movie Die, My Love, the actress revealed that she maintains a TikTok account and does more than just scroll through it. “On TikTok, we get into fights,” Lawrence told co-star Robert Pattinson in a joint interview with Fandango. “We get into fights in the comments section.”
Lawrence said her work on the app started with pop culture discussions. “It started with things like ‘Real Housewives,’ fighting, back and forth, the Kardashians,” she explained. “And it got really intense when I started commenting about the royal family.”
The actress clarified that she did not intend to cause any controversy. “A lot of people didn’t know that Queen Elizabeth II, also known as the Mountbattens, was married to her cousin. That’s just a fact. That’s just a fact,” she said. When Pattinson joked that he had reached a “very niche part of TikTok,” Lawrence responded, “I think it’s all the rage on TikTok.”
The confession comes after a busy week for Lawrence, who also interviewed ELLE to coincide with her partnership with Longines and the release of Die, My Love. Reflecting on the film’s exploration of motherhood, the actress said, “The world hasn’t fully swallowed motherhood yet. What happens when you become a mother, not just emotionally, but physiologically and physically. It’s very animalistic, and it’s very powerful.”
She also praised her co-stars and director, adding, “Rob was exactly what I expected. He’s a really sweet, self-paced guy, but a very talented guy,” adding that working with Lynne Ramsay was a “pinch moment.”
