Jennifer Garner has exposed ex-husband Ben Affleck’s obsession with Beyoncé’s music in candid new comments.
“Do you guys do this? Listen to songs over and over again?” the “Alias” alum asked the audience during an appearance at Diesel A Bookstore on Thursday.
“Let me just say, I survived this. I lived it,” she said.
The “13 Going on 30” actress, 53, then recalled how she supported Affleck, also 53, in 2009 when he filmed “The Town.”
“Ben Affleck listens to songs over and over again,” she said, according to People magazine.
“I had a 3-month-old and a 3-year-old living in a rented house in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and he was filming ‘The Town,'” she said. “And he was listening to Beyoncé’s ‘Halo,’ and I was breastfeeding.”
Affleck directed, co-wrote and starred in the 2010 crime thriller, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival that year, was nominated for the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Picture, and won two National Board of Review awards.
Laura Dave, author of “The Last Thing He Told Me,” who appeared at the Los Angeles event with Garner and Rita Wilson, also sympathized.
“I love it because the only other person I’ve heard of who does that besides Ben is[screenwriter]Tom Stoppard,” said Dave, who admitted to indulging in the same habit.
“When I heard that, I knew I had good friends.”
Garner and Affleck married in 2005, separated in 2015, and share three children: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13.
Although Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were married from 2022 to 2025, the two maintained a close co-parenting relationship.
Affleck spent Thanksgiving with his children at his home in Brentwood, Calif., in November, and the following month, the ex-girlfriend and Seraphina met up to see a movie at the Hollywood Pantages Theater, where they were also spotted shopping and going out to lunch with Lopez, 56, and Samuel.
“Ben and Jen have been separated for a while, but he feels a certain sense of security with her,” a source exclusively told Garner’s Page Six in November.
Earlier this month, the mother of three made a rare comment about the most difficult aspect of her divorce from “The Rip” actor, which was finalized in 2018.
“It was actually difficult for my family to be separated,” she told Marie Claire. “The loss of a true partnership and friendship was difficult.”
But in the end, she explained, it became easier to envision a peaceful co-parenting relationship with her ex.
“Time is an opportunity for healing,” she said. “Time is an opportunity to forgive, move on, and find new ways to be friends.”
