Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ latest Super Bowl commercial offers more than coffee and donuts.
Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Jason Alexander. Ted Danson, Alfonso Ribeiro, Jaleel White and Jasmine Guy join Affleck’s frequent partner Tom Brady in an unexpected spot showcasing ensemble acting from the long-lost sitcom Good Will Dunkin’, answering the question no one asked: what would happen if Good Will Hunting, the 1997 drama starring and conceived by Affleck and Matt Damon, was presented in comedy format.
The show includes references to shows such as “Friends,” “Cheers,” “Different Worlds,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Seinfeld,” and “Family Matters,” as well as multiple references to the script for “Good Will Hunting.” The various actors had special effects adjusted and production techniques de-aged them. However, the spot was shot on film on a real set.
Dunkin’ callback to 1990s TV is to celebrate its first ad for iced coffee, which debuted in 1995. As part of the retrospective, Dunkin’ will be giving away 1.995 million free iced coffees of any size starting Monday, February 9th. Guests can redeem the offer in the Dunkin app using the code GOODWILLDUNKIN.
Dunkin’ will also offer a limited collection of vintage apparel inspired by the 1990s. All sourced from vintage shops in Boston. Fans can shop at DunkinRunsOnMerch.com on Sunday night after the ad is posted.
The Dunkin’ ad is the latest in a series of hilarious, star-studded spots that Affleck has been creating for the coffee and pastry chain since 2023. Several spots featured a musical group called “Dunkings” and included actors such as Jeremy Strong and Casey Affleck. Two spots featured cameos from Affleck’s ex-spouse, Jennifer Lopez.
