Jennet McCurdy has released her debut novel, “Half His Age.”

On Thursday, the actress and the author “Goodbye My Mother” announced the cover of the drummer thriller, her first published fiction work, and the next January release date.

“Half of Age,” which is scheduled to be published by the Imprint Ballantine of Penguin Random House on January 20, 2026, is “Amazingly perceptual, surprisingly interesting, sharp and heart-pounding – a sad, funny, thrilling novel, a 17-year-old girl named Wald, who, together with her teacher, explores desires, exploring power,

McCurdy’s debut novel is now available for pre-order, and has sold over 3 million copies, following the huge success of his 2022 memoir, “I’m Delighted with My My My Died,” which has sold over 3 million copies and remained on the New York Times bestseller list for over 90 weeks. The title recounts McCurdy’s career as a child actress and her difficult relationship with her abusive mother who passed away in 2013, and was awarded the 2023 American Library Association Alex Award and the 2022 Goodread Choice Award in the Memoirs and Autobiography category.

Currently, McCurdy has adapted “I’m Glad My Mom has passed away” to the Apple TV+ series starring Aniston, McCurdy, Sharon Horgan, Ari Katcher, Jerrod Carmichael and Margot Robbie’s Luckychap Entertainment, starring executives. She is a co-creator, co-runner and co-writer of the 10-episode series.

Writing “half of his age” has been the most creatively fulfilling experience of my life,” McCurdy said in a statement Thursday. “Through a 17-year-old girl named Waldo, I was able to explore the complexities of desire, consumerism, class, loneliness, loneliness, anger, addiction, and (often misplaced) length.
