Jen Shah opened up about her time behind bars with Elizabeth Holmes and Ghislaine Maxwell in her first reality star interview since her release from prison.
The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum told People on Wednesday that she bonded with the former during a “poop mission” he was assigned while serving time at the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas.
Calling Holmes a “good friend,” Shah said: “As another high-profile prisoner, we just have things that we’re both dealing with, and that’s when we naturally come together.”
Additionally, the 52-year-old Bravolebrity joked, “When you’re on poop duty with someone, you’re going to be intimate.”
Describing the chores, she said, “I pull out a metal chair and watch everyone come in and use the toilet. After they use the toilet, I have to get up and go check on them and if they haven’t cleaned it, I have to either clean it or tell them to come back and clean it.”
Holmes specifically attended the reality star’s fitness classes, which ranged from “charming abs” to line dancing.
As they walked through the facility together, the two had “deep conversations” about the “heartache of prison” and served as each other’s “confidants.”
Shah, who watched Holmes’ children “grow up” during his 33 months in prison, said there was a disagreement over “responsibility” for the children as the reality star “accepted[his]mistakes” and pleaded guilty in 2022.
However, the Theranos founder has “defended his innocence” since he was convicted of fraud and conspiracy against investors in the same year.
As for Maxwell, Shah spoke of what was “concerning” about how Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice was treated in prison.
The 64-year-old “was given things (in prison) that others would not be given, such as private training sessions, special meals and bottled water,” Shah claimed.
She also claimed that “there is a process you have to go through to schedule a legal call, but (Maxwell) did not have to go through the same process.”
Ms Shah said she continued to have “limited” contact with Mr Maxwell, but both she and Mr Holmes believed the convicted child sex offender had a “complete disregard” for his victims.
“She has made it known, at least to Elizabeth and (me), that she has no remorse. She has said it openly,” Shah claimed to the outlet. “How can you deny it so much? It just didn’t sit well with me.”
Attorneys for Maxwell and Holmes did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Elsewhere in the interview, Shah spoke about her relationship with her husband, Sharif “Coach” Shah, who was “on the verge of divorce” due to legal issues.
She also took “full responsibility” for her actions during the sit-in.
“I was wrong. I made the wrong decision. I should have done things differently,” Shah said. “I should have been more diligent and I deeply regret and am sorry for my actions and my side.”
