It’s finally starting to feel like fall on the East Coast, and Jeff Goldblum is showing off the arrival of fall with his latest look. Even if he had tried it in LA first.
The actor attended the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night wearing a black and white tuxedo designed by ERL, which kept him warmer than most.
The actor, who appeared on the red carpet with his wife Emily Livingston, wore wide-leg black trousers, a coordinating waistcoat and a ruffled white shirt that any 1970s man would be proud of. He completed his look with a black puffer coat, patent leather gloves, wraparound sunglasses, and an antique diamond brooch from Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry.
Livingston wore a strapless pale yellow Prada dress with Cartier jewelry.
Venice Beach-based designer Eli Russell Linnetz of ERL posted several images of Goldblum on Instagram, sharing the look with and without the jacket. In one video, Goldblum can even be seen playing the piano.
In each caption, the designer reiterates, “ERL Artisanal continues the study of the modern American man, exploring tailoring, invention, and new conventions, rejecting norms of personal style in pursuit of new concepts and silhouettes.”
And that’s exactly what he accomplished with the “Wicked” actor’s latest look.
Goldblum was never one to stick to classic conventions, such as wearing printed silk shirts with suits, opting for slimmer-fit tuxedos, topping outfits with fur-trimmed capes, and adding the latest revival trend of antique brooches on suit-style lapels.
In 2022, he appeared on the Prada menswear runway wearing a black overcoat with fur accents.
This ERL look is perfectly in line with the 72-year-old’s penchant for timeless dressing with a twist.
Although temperatures in Los Angeles haven’t yet dropped to mild temperatures, Goldblum is preparing for the winter season with this cozy take on the traditional suit.
