Jay Ellis has joined the cast of Mindy Kaling’s Hulu upcoming comedy series, “Not suitable for the job.”
According to the official logline, the series follows “personal happiness in Murray Hill, Manhattan’s most attractive neighborhood, becoming an 20-something obsessed with five jobs, seeking professional success, and having the time to do so, Manhattan’s most attractive neighbourhood.”
Ellis plays Bill Gibson. Bill Gibson is described as “a charismatic and successful investment banker who has been praised for being his company’s top revenue management director.” He has unveiled previously announced cast members Ellahunt, Avantica, Will Angus, Jack Martin and Nicholas Duverny.
“Not suitable for the job” Ellis’ second debut in 2025 and plays the coach in the set of Netflix comedy series “Ronning Point,” which is set in the NBA world, updated for the second season. Ellis is best known for playing Lawrence Walker in “Insecure,” which ran for five seasons on HBO from 2016 to 2021, and playing Li “Pack” Fitch during Reuben in 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick.” His other credits include the 2024 Lionsgate film “Freaky Tales,” and he will then appear in Peacock’s mystery series “All Her Fault.” He is represented by Lede Company’s Entertainment 360, Entertainment 360, Hansen, Jacobson, Teller and Hoberman.
“Not suitable for the job” was created by Kaling, executive producer along with showrunner Charlie Grandi and Howard Klein of 3 Art Entertainment. Kaling International is working with Warner Bros. TV to produce a series. There, both Kaling and Grandy are doing gross transactions.
