Kate Hudson, who is currently leading the race for Best Actress for “Sun Song Bleu,” and Oscar winner Javier Bardem are set to begin a long-distance relationship in the new romantic comedy “Hello & Paris.”
The film will be written and directed by Elizabeth Chomko (“What They Had”) and is loosely inspired by Deborah McKinley’s New York Times Book Review Editorial Choice novel “That Part Was True.” Optionally, two-time Best Picture nominee Finola Dwyer (“Brooklyn,” “An Education”) will produce alongside “The Fifth Season.”
Legendary Company 193, the film production and global sales company led by Patrick Waxberger, will be in charge of selling the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.
“Hello & Paris” is being touted as a romantic comedy in the vein of genre giants like “Sleepless in Seattle,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “You’ve Got Mail.” After a harrowing first meeting in Paris, a stubbornly independent landscape gardener and a best-selling novelist in crisis begin a glittering transatlantic exchange over books and recipes, only to discover that the only thing harder than being alone may be choosing not to be alone.
“Elizabeth Chomko is a true generational talent, and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with Finola Dwyer to bring her to the big screen,” said Christopher Slager, head of film for The Fifth Season. “Javier Bardem and Kate Hudson will captivate audiences, and we can’t wait for the world to fall in love with this story as much as we do.”
“Now more than ever, I think we need stories that bring us all together, and ‘Hello & Paris’ does just that. Visionary filmmaker Elizabeth Chomko presents a gourmet story that satisfies the soul and delights the senses.” Starring the incomparable duo of Javier Bardem and Kate Hudson, this film is reminiscent of the timeless classic we know and love, but with a fresh twist.” – and enjoy delicious food. ”
Chomko is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Bardem is repped by WME and Goodman Genow Shenkman. Hudson is repped by CAA, Untitled and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
