Jason Kelce is kicking off Super Bowl weekend with a bang.
The former Philadelphia Eagles player hosted a “New Heights” party in California ahead of the big game, wearing an eye-catching look in a tie-dyed velvet coat with nothing underneath, light-wash jeans and white New Balance sneakers. He also wore a baseball cap ($45) from his fashion brand, Underdog.
Jason picked up the coveted coat at local Bay Area shop Love on Hate. The store is a Grateful Dead-loving shop that describes itself as a “tie-dye emporium… focused on spreading rainbows, shine, peace, love, and kindness.”
On Wednesday, the store shared a photo on its Instagram Story of Jason wearing the brand new outerwear and giving two thumbs up in support.
Of course, the New Heights podcast is hosted by Jason and his brother Travis Kelsey, so the two posed together on the soccer field-themed green carpet.
Meanwhile, Travis was dressed in Kansas City Chiefs colors, wearing a striped Marni cardigan ($1,395, $488), taupe pants, and a KC baseball cap.
Fans were quick to pounce on the pair’s bold looks, with one tweeting: “Love how Jason is definitely experimenting with fashion,” while another tweeted: “Still stuck with daddy’s shoes 🤣 baby steps.”
Others compared it to his brother’s more experimental looks in the past, with one writing: “Looks like he’s in Trav’s closet again.”
Another supported his choice, describing San Francisco as “one of the centers of the hippie movement (Haight-Ashbury) and the birthplace of the Grateful Dead. I’m sure that’s what he admires.”
Jason and his wife Kylie Kelsey were also photographed together at the event, wearing a simple white T-shirt and black pants, carrying a casual denim jacket in one hand.
Jason’s fashion choices have long been the talk of the town, from his beloved flip-flops to his Jordans to his newfound appreciation for sophisticated suits befitting his role as an ESPN analyst.
It’s the latter that Kyrie recently gave his full support to on his podcast, satirically joking: “I’m the one who’s ruining the team.” “It’s me, not my husband…he’s the one with the stolen goods.”
