The Malfoys had a family reunion.
Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of himself posing with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stars Tom Felton and Aidan Close. Felton also appeared in the Harry Potter movies as Isaacs’ son Draco Malfoy, and is currently reprising the role on Broadway. Close plays Draco’s son, Scorpius Malfoy, in the stage show.
“He came. He saw. He conquered,” Isaacs wrote in the caption of the post. “Son, you’re wearing your giant boots and they burst at the seams. Your balls are like ostrich eggs. So brave, so proud. So glad to be there.”
On Monday night, Felton wrote in his own post: “No one does what the Malfoys do. Three generations meet for the first time on stage. Needless to say, it was magical… Love you, Dad (Jason Isaacs), love you son (Aidan Close).”
Back in July, Felton revealed his plans to reprise his role as Draco Malfoy in Cursed Child. After the news broke, Isaacs was quick to support his former co-star on social media.
“I can’t wait, I’m the one in the front row with something in my eye,” Isaacs wrote on Instagram. He then added about X: “I booked tickets for November.”
Felton begins his Broadway run on November 11th and is scheduled to run for 19 weeks. “The most exciting part is doing it live,” he told Variety on the Tony Awards red carpet. “The movie took more or less nine months to shoot, but this has all been condensed. It’s all been reimagined into a new type of story that’s very loving. And I’m really enjoying being a father.”
