Jane Seymour is ready to put her story on the page!
Speaking with PEOPLE at the AARP Adult Film Awards in Beverly Hills on January 10, the 74-year-old actress revealed that she is working on a memoir.
“I’ve just started writing my autobiography, but there are so many stories and so many unusual things that have happened that I keep thinking, ‘What actually happened to me?'” Seymour said, noting how certain memories from her early career remain unbelievable to her.

“Of course, I flew to Hollywood, and I was sitting in first class, and the stewardess said, ‘Mr.[John]Wayne would like to have dinner with me,'” Seymour recalled. “You know what? Would anyone come to Hollywood as a young actress and actually sit next to John Wayne in the dining area of a big jet going to Los Angeles?”
As such, Seymour says writing the book has been an “absolutely fascinating” experience so far.
“I’m trying to figure out what to do with things that don’t fit in the book. I’m really trying to think outside the box,” she says. “I want to make sure this book is great and has a purpose, but I’m also trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the story.”

Seymour is already a prolific writer. She has written self-help books such as Jane Seymour’s Guide to Romantic Living and parenting book Two at a Time: Have Twins with Pamela Patrick Novotny. The actress had twin sons with ex-husband James Keach in 1995, and co-authored several children’s books with him in the early 2000s.

Seymour will also co-produce the film adaptation of Christie Cashman’s novel of the same name, The Truth About Horses, scheduled for release in 2023. The book depicts Reese, a teenager who yearns to win at the Black Elk horse race.
Seymour, who first became involved with Cashman while filming the Harry Wilde detective series in Ireland, previously told PEOPLE that she was “blown away” by The Truth About Horses after reading the novel.

“[Christie]asked me if I could come and do a Q&A at the Harvard Bookstore in Boston, and since I was single and free at the time, I said, ‘Sure, I’ll come and do it. Why don’t you do it?'” Ms. Seymour, who is currently dating musician John Zambetti, said at the time. “It was a ridiculous book signing. It was right around the corner. It was crazy. And then I realized this was something really extraordinary.”
