Jane Levy is the latest addition to the cast of Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredisi’s NBC comedy pilot about private detectives.
Levy joins previously announced cast members Jake Johnson and Keith David in the pilot, which aired on NBC in January. Few plot details for the untitled single-camera show have been released, with the logline only stating that the pilot “continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles Private Eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and ends with this show.”
Levy will play Faye, a “very smart” investigative journalist who is described as “smart, resourceful and a force of nature.”
The role brought Levy back to NBC, where she starred in the popular musical drama “Zoe’s Special Playlist.” The show ran for two seasons on the station, and Roku commissioned a finale film in 2021. Levy was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2021 for her work on the show. Her other television credits include “Suburgatory,” “Shameless,” “Castle Rock,” “What/If” and Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” sequel. In film, he is best known for his roles in films such as “The Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe,” directed by Fede Alvarez.
She is repped by UTA, Rise Management and Sloane Offer.
Goor and Del Tredici are co-writing and executive producing the pilot. Akiva Shaffer will serve as director and executive producer, and Johnson will also produce in addition to starring. The studio is Universal Television.
This isn’t the only private detective pilot currently in production at NBC. Peacock Network is also preparing a reboot of “The Rockford Files” starring David Boreanaz as Jim Rockford.
