Both actors have played presidents before, but this time it’s a “ghost” role. Original “Hamilton” star Christopher Jackson, who played George Washington in the Broadway hit, and “SNL” performer James Austin Johnson (best known for his Donald Trump impression) have signed on to guest star on CBS’ “Ghost” later this spring.
Jackson is on board to play Anthony. Anthony is described as “a human resources representative at Mahoning Capital who calls out Trevor’s fake employee alter ego ‘Michael Jackson’ after suspicious behavior at Stripper Glam.” Johnson was then cast as Joe, a “local history expert who helps Sam and Jay navigate the process of declaring Woodstone a historic landmark.”
Previous guest stars announced for Season 5 include Young Sheldon star Ian Armitage, John Michael Higgins and recent Emmy winner Jeff Hiller.
Jackson was most recently seen on HBO Max’s “And Just Like That.” His other television credits include CBS’ “Bull,” Netflix’s “When They See Us,” “The Good Wife” and “Nurse Jackie.” He has been nominated for a Tony Award and has won a Grammy and an Emmy Award. In addition to “Hamilton,” his Broadway credits include “Holla If Ya Hear Me,” “Bronx Bombers,” “After Midnight,” “In the Heights,” “Memphis” and “The Lion King.”
Johnson is currently in his fifth season on SNL. His other television credits include “Barry” and “Better Call Saul.” He has also provided voice acting for “The Simpsons,” “Angry Birds 3,” “Hotel Transylvania 5,” “Inside Head 2,” and the podcast “’Tis the Grinch Holiday Podcast.”
Showrunner and executive producer Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the series also stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Daniel Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Roman Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wysocki, and Devan Chandler Long.
CBS Studios produces “Ghost” in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions. In addition to Port and Wiseman, Richie Keene, Matthew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, Martha Howe-Douglas, Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward, Alison Owen (Monumental Television), Angie Stevenson (BBC Studios), Josh Malmuth, John Brickstead and Trey Kolmer will also executive produce.
