Netflix and fight promoter Most Valuable Promotions have announced the postponement of the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis boxing match, originally scheduled for Friday, November 14th.
The event, scheduled to be held at Miami’s Caseya Center, was scheduled to be live-streamed worldwide on Netflix. MVP said there are still plans to bring digital influencer-turned-pro boxer Paul’s headline fight to Netflix sometime in 2025.
A year ago, Netflix streamed the record-breaking fight between Paul and Mike Tyson to an estimated 108 million average minute viewers (AMA) worldwide. According to Netflix, the fight between Paul and Tyson was the most streamed sporting event of all time.
The announcement of the cancellation of the Paul vs. Davis match comes after Davis was accused of another domestic incident last week. In a civil suit filed in Miami-Dade County, Davis is accused by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossell, of assault, battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress, ESPN reported. Davis’ trainer Calvin Ford told USA Today that the lawsuit against the boxer is “nonsense,” adding of Davis: “He’s in great shape. Everything’s going well. So we’re trying to find out what’s going on.” Davis had previously been accused of domestic violence by another ex-girlfriend. The case was dismissed in August. Davis is on probation after pleading guilty to a 2020 hit-and-run car crash, according to CBS News.
“Our team has been working closely with all stakeholders to navigate this situation responsibly,” Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said in a statement released Monday. “While we do not plan to move forward with this event, plans remain for Jake Paul to headline the event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding the new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional matches will be communicated as they become available. We appreciate the partnership of Netflix, Caseya Center, and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.”
In a statement released on Nov. 1, MVP said, “We immediately began an investigation after learning that a civil lawsuit had been filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025. At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure that our decisions are thoroughly scrutinized. We unequivocally condemn violence in any form and are committed to addressing this matter diligently and with respect for all involved.”
According to MVP, fans who purchased tickets for the Paul vs. Davis game through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund through their original point of purchase within 14 to 21 days.
