The cause of actor and model Ethan Brown’s death at the age of 52 has been revealed.
Ethan, the son of singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, died on November 25, 2025 from “the effects of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and lidocaine,” according to records released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, January 13.
According to a Facebook post shared by Jackson, 77, on Nov. 26, 2025, the “Parenting Helen” star was found “unresponsive at home” and was reported dead.
“It is with deep sadness that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Brown, son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and passed away,” the statement said.
“We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this time.”
Ethan, a famous singer-songwriter, welcomed Ethan to Phyllis Major in 1973, and the two married in 1975.
Jackson’s marriage to Major ultimately ended in 1976 when she tragically committed suicide at the age of 30.
In 2021, Jackson reflected on Major’s death in an interview with Root Magazine, saying that his son became his “main focus” after that.
“There were only two things I wanted to be able to balance: being a songwriter and being a father,” he said. “And I thought of it like this: If I have to be the father, I hope I know that and just do it.”
Ethan grew up and was able to build a career as an actor and model.
As a child, he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine alongside his famous father in 1974 when he was six months old.
He co-starred with Angelina Jolie in 1995’s “Hackers.” In 2004, he starred in Kate Hudson’s film Raising Helen.
He also appeared in one episode of WB’s “Batman” spin-off series “Birds of Prey” in 2002.
According to People magazine, according to producer Mark Ronson’s memoir “Night People,” he modeled and appeared in campaigns for designers such as Isaac Mizrahi.
