According to Artisan Gateway, “The Shadow’s Edge” (IQIYI Picture) remained on the Chinese Box Office Collection Chart for the September 12th-14 frame, running to a total of RMB1133 million ($157.4 million). Jackie Chance Liller is directed by Larry Yang.
The film follows Wong Tak-cheong (Chang), a retired Macau surveillance expert who returns to track down a high-tech robbery committed by a mastermind criminal known as the Wolf King. Supporting him is copiuguo (Zhang Zifeng) who will face off against Tony Leong Ka Fai’s unning Hu Longsheng and his criminal gang. The film was fifth on the global charts by ComScore.
“Nobody” (Shanghai Animated Film) was held second for $5.6 million. After seven weekends, the animated feature is $222.8 million. Directed by Yu Shui, the film draws inspiration from “Journey to the West” and rethinks classic myths through the minor devil eyes of his own spiritual pilgrimage. It took 8th place on the global chart.
“Dead to Rights” (China Film) came in third with $3 million, bringing Cume to $414 million. Written by Shen Ao, Shen Ao, Zhang Ke and Xu Luyang, and depicting documented historical events against the background of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre (the “liu haoran of “franchise of the “dead Chinatown” franchise) envisions the identity of a post office that will keep Japanese occupation alive. Operating from within the walls of a Japanese-controlled studio, he secretly protects Chinese soldiers and civilians in quiet acts of resistance.
Among the imports, “Final Destination: Bloodlines” (New Line Cinema) has added $1.7 million for $24.7 million so far, while Universal’s “The Bad Guys 2” has earned $1.3 million for a cumulative $26.5 million.
The weekend box office revenue reached $26.8 million, bringing China’s 2025 total to $5.565 billion, an increase of 18.8% from the same period last year.
