Jack Osbourne has revealed that the last day of his late father Ozzy Osbourne’s life was not “dramatic”.

“He woke up, did his thing, ate breakfast, and that was it,” Osbourne’s youngest son said on Wednesday’s episode of the “Hate to Break it to Ya” podcast.

Ozzy passed away from a heart attack on July 22, 2025. He also had coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. He was 76 years old.

Jack, 40, admitted on his podcast that Ozzy’s death was “certainly a surprise”.

“Obviously everyone knew he was sick,” Jack said. “But I didn’t expect it to be this fast. I think he’s done.”

Jack also talked about the sweet moment he shared with his father after Ozzy’s final show with Black Sabbath, three weeks before his death.

“When I was putting him to bed, he was brushing his teeth or something, and he looked at himself in the mirror and said, ‘I think I’m going to cut my hair.’ I’m like, ‘Why?’ And he was like, “I’m retired.” I’m not a rock star anymore,” the “Dancing with the Stars” alum recalled.

“I never expected it to end this quickly. I think it’s over,” Jack said of Ozzy’s death (the two are pictured together at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival). Getty Images

“So I think about it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s done. He was okay for the trip,'” Jack added.

Reflecting on Ozzy’s final concert, Jack said his father was “all fired up” for the monumental moment.

“He was like, ‘Let’s go.’ He was there to do his job.”

Jack previously revealed that he learned of his father’s death from someone who had worked for his family for 30 years. The person knocked on the door of his Los Angeles home at 3:45 a.m.

“When I looked out the window and saw it was him, I knew something bad had happened,” Jack said in a YouTube video in September 2025.

Meanwhile, Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne spoke at length about Ozzy’s death on Piers Morgan Uncensored in December.

“I ran downstairs and there he was and they were trying to resuscitate him and I was like, ‘No, leave him alone. Leave him alone. No, he’s gone,'” she said.

“And they tried and tried, they took him to the hospital in a helicopter, they tried, but they were like, ‘He’s gone. Leave him alone.’

Ozzy was buried in a private ceremony at his home in Buckinghamshire, England, on July 31st.

The day before, he was honored in a procession in his hometown of Birmingham, which was attended by his family.

Since then, many artists have paid tribute to the rock icon at various concerts and award ceremonies.
