I can relate!
Isaac Mizrahi remembers meeting Timothée Chalamet for the first time on the set of Marty Supreme as “a huge thrill.”
“I was a little nervous too,” he continued, “because who knows, but he was just like a dream.”
The 64-year-old fashion designer added that she was pleasantly shocked when the 30-year-old “Dune” star asked Mizrahi for a selfie.
“It was just crazy,” he gushed to Page Six exclusively at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards earlier this week. “He’s just a dream boat.”
Mizrahi, who played Gwyneth Paltrow’s character’s publicist in the critical hit, said she landed the role in an unconventional way.
“I’ve known Josh Safdie (co-writer and director of the film) since I was little,” the Excel designer explained.
“He was my downstairs neighbor’s son’s best friend. So I used to see him at Seders and parties and stuff like that when I was little…I’ve known him for years.”
Meanwhile, the Project Runway All Stars alumni are preparing for their annual show at Cafe Carlyle.
The new show, called “AI Artificial Isaac,” will run from February 3rd to February 21st.
“It’s my 10th year with the club,” he explained, “and I’m going to talk about what it’s like to be 10 years older. I mean, it’s basically nice! It’s very nice. So come on!”
Mizrahi added that they would discuss “how incredibly heartbreaking the passage of time is.” That’s why he hates celebrating milestones.
“I hate birthdays,” he said. “I hate anniversaries. I hate anything that marks the passage of time.”
Other things Mizrahi hates about aging are more practical.
“Just stand up!” he said. “What about going up the stairs? What about going down the stairs? Going down the stairs…you literally have to think three or four times before you actually do it.”
Celebrities in attendance at the event included winners Rose Byrne, Amy Madigan, Benicio del Toro, and Safdie, who won the Best Original Screenplay award with his writing partner Ronald Bronstein.
