Cardi B issued a statement using fashion in a candid “Call Her Daddy” interview on Wednesday.
The pregnant rapper paired her boyfriend Stefon Diggs’ New England Patriots jersey with plaid skirts, Vivienne Westwood and the pearls in the statement in black-rimmed glasses.
“I wanted to do a jersey, but I wanted to do my style,” she said when host Alex Cooper asked about the appearance.
“And I… well… I wanted to show you my man, but by this time he’s asleep. He’ll fall asleep early,” she explained.
In all interviews, 32-year-old Cardi gave insight into the relationship between her father and the broad receiver of the fetus that influenced her sporty outfit.
She and 31-year-old NFL player sparked romance rumours last year, taking photos together in February before revealing their relationship with a PDA-packed appearance in the NBA game in May.
“I could feel the vibe that he liked me, but he never came close to me,” she said.
The singer explained how they got closer after making many calls, and it soon became clear that he was the person she wanted in her life.
“Then we had a really good conversation, and it was like there were days when we had to talk for how many hours, six or seven hours, and even when we weren’t talking, I had to talk to this person every day.”
Last week, after cleverly hiding her pregnancy for months with her strategic styling choices, the rapper announced that she and Diggs are looking forward to it.
“I’m giving birth to a baby with my boyfriend, Stephon Diggs,” she revealed to Gale King on the “CBS Morning” back then. “I’m excited. I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very strong and I feel very strong in doing all of this work, but I’m doing all of this work while I’m having a baby.”
A few days later, she showed off her baby bumps in layers of lace and pearls at the Apple Music Album Launch event for “Am I The Drama?”, drawing an outer pearl bra with her head turned in a bold, thin black lace catsuit and cascaded chains draped around her body.
The “Bodak Yellow” artist decorated the provocative look with black high heeled boots, pearl chokers and a vast platinum blonde wave that guides the charm of old Hollywood.
To her credit, Grammy Award winners said that pregnancy did not hinder her personal style. She surprised fans with some charming and sultry looks throughout her first three pregnancies with her estranged husband’s offset.
The “WAP” rapper also has no plans to suspend her highly successful music career. She plans to tour in February, but pointed out that her due date is before she hits the road.
