Selena Gomez has revealed why she chose to keep details of her star-studded wedding to Benny Blanco a secret.
“I didn’t want anyone taking pictures of my wedding except for mine, and I keep my life as private as possible,” the “Calm Down” singer said on Tuesday’s “Jennifer Hudson Show” while discussing how she decided when to wear her three wedding dresses.
On September 27, Gomez and the producer tied the knot in a romantic ceremony at the lush Seacrest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California.
The “Murder in the Building” star shared the first photo from the ceremony on Instagram.
Amid a merry-go-round of photos and videos, the newlyweds hugged each other, held hands, and enjoyed their newfound life as husband and wife.
Another close-up shot showed Gomez’s bouquet of flowers and wedding ring.
“🤍September 27, 25🤍,” she captioned the post.
The bride and groom both glammed up in Ralph Lauren, with Gomez wearing a custom hand-draped halterneck satin dress with embroidery and Blanco wearing a classic black tuxedo and bow tie.
Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, exchanged vows in front of several stars, including Ed Sheeran, Martin Short, Steve Martin, Paul Rudd, Paris Hilton, Zoe Saldaña, SZA, and the bride’s best friend Taylor Swift.
The “Bad Blood” singer, 35, reportedly gave a heartfelt speech during the reception and joked about how Gomez “slammed her at the altar.”
After their wedding, the Disney star and Blanco reportedly enjoyed a “perfect” honeymoon: a road trip along the coasts of California and Texas.
“They loved their little honeymoon,” a source told People last week.
“They celebrated for days during their wedding and were in high spirits. They really enjoyed taking time to slow down and go on a road trip to explore and relax. They drove around the Cali coast and even visited Texas,” the source added.
“It was perfect.”
Now that the wedding is over, both Gomez and Blanco may be focused on starting a family.
After the Season 2 finale of Gomez’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place aired, the pop star captioned a clip of her character Alex Russo about motherhood.
“Alex Russo is a mom,” she wrote. “I hope that someday it will be me.”
