Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner reportedly dined with Maria Shriver less than 48 hours before the gruesome murder.
The three reportedly dined at Amici restaurant in Brentwood, Los Angeles, on December 12, according to restaurant owner Tancredi DeLuca.
“They were very nice people, always very approachable and very kind to all the staff,” DeLuca said in an interview with the Daily Mail published Saturday.
“We are all in complete shock. We are saddened by what happened. They are very good people, very down to earth and have always treated everyone here very well.”
According to staff, the group ate the restaurant’s special winter menu, “Soliola alla Mugnaia” (imported Dover flounder with lemon caper sauce, broccolini and roast potatoes). They had pasta with their dishes.
Representatives for Robb did not respond to repeated requests for comment from Page Six. Representatives for Mr. Shriver did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The famous film director and his wife were found stabbed to death inside their Los Angeles home on December 14th. Rob was 78 years old and Michelle was 70.
Among the list of Hollywood celebrities mourning his death, Shriver, 70, also paid a touching tribute to the couple, whom he lovingly described as two of his “best friends.”
“I loved Michelle and Rob Reiner,” she wrote via X on Dec. 15. “We raised our children together, Mom and I. We laughed together, we cried together, we played together, we dreamed together. I had dinner with them last week, and they were in the best shape of their lives. They loved each other, they loved their friends, they loved their family, they loved their country.”
“They never gave up on our country. They wanted to make this country better. They always, always wanted to make our world better, and they were willing to fight to make this country the country they loved.”
“I’ll miss you, Michelle. I’ll miss you, Rob. I love you both. I appreciate your friendship. God bless you both. Life won’t be the same without you here, that’s for sure,” she concluded her long message.
As previously reported, Rob and Michelle were last seen alive at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party on December 13, where they got into a heated argument with their son Nick, a source told the Post.
Multiple news outlets reported that Nick, who has publicly battled drug addiction, acted erratically at the party, disturbing other A-list guests, including comedian Bill Hader.
At one point, a source familiar with the event claimed that some guests tried to call the police after seeing Nick’s actions. However, they are stopped by O’Brien, the party’s host.
“Father and son got into an argument that got so bad and loud that someone tried to call the police,” an insider told the Daily Mail on Friday. “But Conan came in and said, ‘This is my house, this is my party, I’m not going to call the police.'” He persuaded them not to call the police. ”
Rob was also reported to have shockingly told close friends at the party that he was “petrified” at the event after the massive explosion, saying his son’s last words could “hurt” him.
Officials later told the Post that the couple’s murdered bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy Reiner, on Sunday.
They were found with multiple wounds all over their bodies, including a stab wound to their throats. Their official cause of death is listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.”
Nick was arrested later that night and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents. At his first court appearance Wednesday, he was given a January 7, 2026 arraignment date.
