Chris Evans and Alba Baptista welcomed their daughter on Friday. A source detailed how the new parents are adjusting to life with a baby girl. Officials also revealed her unique name.
Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista are adjusting to their new life as parents. Hours after reports broke on Friday that the Massachusetts couple were secretly welcoming their first child, People magazine confirmed that the couple are having a baby girl, whom they named Alma Grace Baptista Evans.
“Alma” means “soul” in Portuguese (and Spanish), and is a gentle homage to the 28-year-old Portuguese actress’ roots. Baptista’s first language is Portuguese, and she also speaks Spanish, French, German, and English.
A source detailed how she and Evans are doing, saying the couple is “enjoying their privacy and enjoying their first few special days as a family with their baby.”
In 2022, Evans expressed his desire to become a father someday. “That’s definitely what I want: a wife, kids, starting a family,” he told People. “When you read about most of the greatest artists, whether they’re actors or painters or writers, most of them[admit]it wasn’t the work they made (which they were most proud of), but the relationships they had, the families they built, the love they found, the love they shared.
“So it also rings true throughout my long 41-year life. Those are the most important things. I love the idea of tradition and ritual. I’ve had a lot of that in my life. So the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better.”
People revealed that Baptista and Evans were dating in November 2022 and married in September 2023.
