Three industry players have launched an app designed to serve as an Uber-like platform to connect users with professional content creators, video editors, producers, and videographers.
Social Agent matches experienced professionals with people who need to create special event reels and high-end documents. The free Social Agent app was launched on Apple’s App Store in September after nine months of beta testing.

The service plans to tap into the pool of experienced audio and video producers and technicians seeking freelance work in light of significant layoffs across the industry and the downturn in TV and film production.
The company also offers services that edit and package raw footage uploaded by users. It’s called “You Upload, We Edit.”
Social Agent is the brainchild of Lisa Jammal, Brooke Levy, and Jeff Tobler. Jamal is the CEO. She has been involved in content development for many years including the Grammy Awards and the Emmy Awards. Levy has worked in the areas of corporate law and strategy. Mr. Tobler previously served as head of communications and PR at Warner Bros. Television, Expedia and Ava DuVernay’s Alley Filmworks.
“Social Agent was created for the way people live, celebrate, and share content today,” co-founders Jamal, Levy and Tobler said in a statement. “We believe there is no true middle ground between DIY and hiring full-fledged staff, and we are filling the gap by providing on-demand content creators and fast, affordable solutions that allow people to put down their phones, be present, and focus on what matters most, in both personal and business moments. Early traction in LA confirms the demand, and this is just the beginning. See you soon, New York.”
