Britney Spears’ manager Cade Hudson is speaking out after the singer was arrested for drunk driving in California on Wednesday night.
“This was a completely unacceptable and unfortunate incident,” he said in a statement obtained by Page Six.
“Britney intends to take the right steps and abide by the law. We hope this is the first step in the long overdue changes that must occur in Britney’s life. We hope she gets the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
Hudson also told Page Six that Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, “are going to spend time with her.”
He said that the singer’s loved ones “will come up with the necessary plans that are due and will lead her to success for happiness.”
As Page Six previously reported, Spears was arrested for drunk driving on Wednesday night.
The pop star was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, California, at around 9:28 p.m. local time, arrested at 3:02 a.m., and finally released three hours later.
A 911 call obtained by Page Six shows Spears swerved and sped off before being arrested.

TMZ later reported that shortly after Spears, 44, was arrested, police took her to the hospital to have blood drawn to test her blood alcohol level.
Spears was alone when police stopped her in Westlake Village, near her Thousand Oaks home, sources told the publication. She was reportedly not injured.
Police have not released the results of her BAC test, but Britney reportedly told those around her that her BAC test was 0.06 percent. The legal limit in California is 0.08, but you can be charged with DUI if you are seen driving erratically.
Spears’ arrest comes months after she was seen driving erratically after a night out with friends.
In October 2025, a video showed the “Toxic” songstress leaving restaurant Red-O and getting behind the wheel of a black BMW after several people allegedly tried to stop her.
She was then seen swerving between lanes, rear-ending a car, and swerving into a bike lane.
Shortly after the video was released, the Princess of Pop took to social media to claim that it was not her but a “lookalike” driving the car. The restaurant’s manager also defended Spears at the time, claiming the singer had not been drinking before getting behind the wheel.
