Rivals star Hudson Williams remained tight-lipped on the Oscars red carpet, summarizing what the hit drama’s second season will be about. It was “sex”.
Williams, who shot to fame earlier this year for playing Shane Hollander in Crave’s steamy Canadian hockey romance, made his first Oscar appearance on Sunday. In interviews with CNN and Variety, the star called the experience “surreal and satisfying.”
Season 2 is expected to begin filming this summer, creator Jacob Tierney told Variety’s Marc Malkin at the GLAAD Media Awards earlier this month. “We’re still making good progress,” he said, adding that he’s “staying in his room all day writing.”
This news will definitely be exciting for die-hard fans, but one particular celebrity in particular is sure to be just as excited, too: Kerry Washington. On Thursday, the “Scandal” actress told Variety that she loves the show. “I bought one of the candles on Instagram. It’s a ‘Come to the Cottage’ candle,” she told Malkin at the premiere of “Imperfect Women.” “I’m hooked.” She even called the series “one of the greatest televisions of the last few decades.”
“I love Kelly,” Williams said on the carpet. “She’s such a talented person. It was amazing to hear that from her.”
In addition to Season 2 of “Heated Rivalry,” fans will soon be able to see Williams in her next project, another in the Crave series, “Yaga.” This half-hour drama series is based on the hit play written by Canadian playwright Kat Sandler. Other announced cast members include Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Noah Reed (Schitt’s Creek), and Clark Bucko (Letterkenny).
