He’ll be “The Chiefs’ guy” for one more season.
Travis Kelce revealed that his fiancée Taylor Swift inspired him to return to the Kansas City Chiefs for 14 seasons.
“She… we share the same love for our jobs and fortunately, we both had that desire since we were kids in our chosen professions,” the tight end said on Tuesday’s live taping of “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“It’s really great to see her keep coming to the table and keep writing new things and keep finding new melodies and things like that,” Kelce added.
“Plus, I still see her love and joy for what she does.”
The three-time Super Bowl champion, 36, said it’s “motivating” to see the “Bad Blood” singer dominate the music industry.
“It’s motivating for anyone, let alone my fiancé, to see that and know that I’m going through something where I’m trying to figure out exactly what the future holds,” he shared.
“Things like that definitely make you want to say, ‘Look, I’m not done yet either,'” Kelce added.
“I still have ideas in the back of my mind and I still have energy to play this game.”
After months of retirement rumors, Kelce confirmed on Monday that he will return to the Chiefs for the 2026-2027 season.
The player reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs worth between $12 million and $15 million.
According to multiple reports, Kelce turned down big offers from other teams and will remain in Missouri, where he has spent his entire NFL career.
As the offseason continues, Kelce and Swift, also 36, are still planning their wedding.
Page Six exclusively reported that the pair, who started dating in 2023, will tie the knot this summer.
Last November, we reported that the Grammy Award winner and football star was considering hosting additional ceremonies in Tennessee and possibly on his private island.
Details of the wedding are being kept secret, but Kelce cheerfully said last month that the reception would be filled with kegs of his Garage Beer brand.
