Amanda Batula is ready to go vegan.
Fans of “Summer House” will likely associate the reality star with images of her lying in bed. In fact, she and best friends Ciara Miller and Paige DeSorbo collectively became known as the “Bedbugs,” with the latter even launching a sleepwear brand after leaving the Bravo show.
Now that Batula has confirmed that she has separated from her husband (and co-star) Kyle Cook, the swimsuit designer has officially moved out of the house and into her own apartment. And she’s filling it with even better vibes (and lots of nerdy gummy clusters and pirate booty), collaborating with LoveSac for a new campaign that sees her go from bed bug to couch potato.
“Obviously, I’m obsessed with sofas and beds. I love being as horizontal as possible, so I think it’s a no-brainer to work with a brand that literally specializes in sofas,” Batula exclusively tells Page Six Style on set, wearing a white silk piece from DeSorbo’s Daphne line.
“I’m sure we’ve all heard Kyle complain about how much time I spend on the couch, so why not get a couch that I can literally spend forever with?” she asks.
Batula says the style of her previous home was very “millennial beige.”
“Everything was white, clean and crisp,” she said, adding that her two dogs made the old white sofa “disgusting and dirty.”
“Right now, I’m trying to lean more into neutrals and pops of color, like Lovesac’s blush pink shade,” she added. “And I’m really trying to add more color to my apartment with artwork and furniture.”
One such item is a Jonathan Adler pillow in the shape of a Prozac pill. This is a nod to her battle with depression, which she has been open about on her Bravo show, which she called an “incredible gift.”
“That’s the vibe. It’s great, silly, light, just alive with color,” she said. “I just want to be surrounded by happiness. I want to be surrounded by things that make me feel happy and comfortable and warm.”
Batula’s next chapter will include the “Summer House” spinoff “In the City,” starring her, Cook, and Lindsay Hubbard.
“Kyle and I are both doing great right now, we’re both happy and just focused on healing and continuing to better ourselves,” Batula said, adding that her friend Miller has been “incredible support” and “constantly checking in”.
“I’m very happy to continue on this path and I’m enjoying the feeling that I’m getting better and better every day. It’s a really great thing,” she added.
