Meghan Markle’s sweet-smelling garden walk with her family led to the creation of a product she plans to sprinkle on her family’s turkey this Thanksgiving.
In the latest edition of her As Ever newsletter, the Duchess of Sussex recalls a sunny walk with Prince Archie, 6, Prince Lilibet, 4, and Prince Harry, 41. So they walked among the sage—sage is included in her holiday drop, Sage Honey with Honeycomb.
“It was a sunny moment that made daily walks a little more magical, with Archie and Lili in tow, her husband checking on the bees, and Pula chasing a ball with Mia,” People magazine wrote in its newsletter.
“And that sage, that purple, that scent around the garden was always in the background.”
The newsletter describes the new product as “fragrant, earthy and gourmet in its depth of flavor and elegant simplicity, inspired by the treats she enjoys at home with her family.”
They add that sage honey is “now available on the holiday table to beautify your Thanksgiving feast, whether it’s poultry or vegetables,” and suggest blending it with cooking stock, Dijon mustard, spices, and lemon juice to create a flavorful Thanksgiving turkey As Ever Sage Honey Glaze.
Other suggestions include using it in vinaigrettes or as a “spoonful for tea.”
In an interview last year, the mother of two, who recently made a surprising return to acting, gave fans a peek into the Sussexes’ Thanksgiving celebrations.
“We always try to do something fun,” she told Marie Claire last November.
“We’ve had a good meal and spent time like any other family, and then what do we do? We play games, we do the same thing, someone brings a guitar, it’s fun.”
“Every holiday is a new adventure,” she told the magazine.
Markle added that she wants her children to experience the “magic” of holiday traditions, including “amazing recipes that lead to formative memories” of Thanksgiving.
