Meghan King’s three children will spend Thanksgiving with their father, Jim Edmonds, after the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum temporarily lost custody, Page Six exclusively reports.
Sources said King will oversee visitation rights with the children on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but the children will celebrate Thursday’s holiday with Edmonds and his wife, Courtney Edmonds, at their home in Tennessee.
It’s unclear how King, who lives in Missouri, will spend Thanksgiving this year.
Her representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An agent for Jim was also not immediately available.
Last week, news broke that King, 41, had temporarily lost custody of his daughter Aspen, 9, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 7, to his ex-husband.
One source claimed that King had a history of giving Ritalin to Hayes, even though she had not been diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Our sources further said that Child Protective Services (CPS) launched an investigation after Dr. King allegedly asked Hayes’ school nurse to administer medication without a prescription.
Jim, 55, and Courtney were in Tennessee when they got the call from CPS, so the couple flew back to Missouri.
A temporary restraining order has been granted and more permanent detention arrangements will be decided at a court hearing scheduled for Dec. 9, sources said.
King has not spoken publicly about the situation, but former co-star Kelly Dodd described him as an “amazing” parent who deserves to “get our baby back.”
King and Jim married in October 2014, but five years later King filed for divorce from the retired MLB star following a cheating scandal. Their split was completed in May 2021.
The ex-lovers had initially agreed to share joint custody of their children, but several obstacles disrupted the peace.
As recently as May, Courtney called police for allegedly trespassing on King and Jim’s property.
To responding officers, King claimed that Jim was “incredibly emotionally abusive” and that the situation had been “misrepresented.”
“Meghan made a brief phone call to her daughter from the doorway, never stepped inside, slammed the door in her daughter’s face, and calmly left her belongings on the porch,” a rep for the former Bravolebrity told Us at the time.
“As she left, she was unexpectedly intercepted by multiple police vehicles and subjected to what she perceived to be unnecessary hostile treatment.”
