Kristen Bell thanked her husband Dax Shepard for being “supportive” while hosting the 2026 SAG Actor Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
“In case you were wondering what I was doing when I wasn’t on stage last night,” she captioned an Instagram Reel on Monday. “I never thought for a second that I could do this job by myself.”
The footage shows Bell, Shepard and their daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, watching the show from backstage when the actress wasn’t performing.
“Never underestimate your tribe. The goals you set, the dreams you chase, none of them happen in a vacuum. The people in your corner are not an added bonus. They are the foundation,” Bell wrote.
“Thank you @daxshepard for your continued support and presence. You have never been absent to calm my nervous system during a time of crisis,” she added.
Bell said family reunions “give (her) the energy to be creative, perform and entertain. I love that.”
“I’m grateful for the space I get to occupy. Whenever I need it, I’ll have the same room for all three of us. ❤️,” she concluded.
Shepherd, 51, accepted the comments and praised his wife’s great accomplishment.
“I don’t deserve any of that, but in this case, I do. Because yesterday was prep day for a colonoscopy (as some of you may know). So this visit was one of the bravest and most arrogant decisions of my life. And you are devastated ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
At the SAG Actor Awards, Bell walked the star-studded red carpet wearing a custom purple sheer dress by Georges Hobeika with beaded details and a pleated train.
“For me, hosting is not boring,” she told Netflix on the red carpet before her monologue. “It’s not for me. If I’m going to burn anyone, it’s going to be me.”
The “Good Place” actress, 45, accessorized with a diamond necklace and coordinating drop earrings.
Bell, who hosted the elegant evening last year and 2018, announced she would be returning to the stage at this year’s January ceremony.
“I have enjoyed hosting the show each time, so it was an easy decision to come back for a third time,” Bell said in a statement at the time.
The “Frozen” star also hinted at using the pipes during hosting gigs.
“What I’m most excited about is the fact that I get to do what every actor does best… sing :),” she shared.
Last year, Bell managed to make people squirm in their seats by playing clips of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Home Alone’s Kieran Culkin, Crossroads’ Zoe Saldaña and Barney & Friends’ Selena Gomez, from their younger years.
The ‘Veronica Mars’ alum also briefly put jokes aside to honor a group of Los Angeles firefighters who attended the celebration.
Bell was nominated for a SAG Trophy last year for her role in Netflix’s “Nobody Wants This,” but she has no role this year, only hosting the night.
