New couple Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton are reportedly doing their best to avoid upsetting their unpredictable ex-husband Kanye West.
“Kanye has been friends with Louis in the past, so they’re worried about what Kanye will think about this,” a source told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, adding that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star “doesn’t want to look like he’s poking a bear.”
A source said both she and Hamilton “know this could affect Kanye in a number of ways,” which is part of the reason they’re keeping things casual.
A source said the two are “taking this relationship with kid gloves and it’s nothing more than just playtime at this point,” and described their romance as a “friends-with-benefits” situation.
“Lewis and Kim are not dating exclusively. He has no intention of settling down with anyone, including Kim,” the source explained, while another chimed in: “Lewis doesn’t want to be a stepfather.[He]doesn’t want to be an ‘it’ couple with Kim.”
However, a second source claimed that Kardashian and West’s children, daughters North, 12, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6, “love” Hamilton, who has “been a family friend for many years.”
A second source said the British F1 driver reportedly has a “very gentle spirit” and is helping Kardashian, 45, navigate her “complicated co-parenting situation” with the controversial rapper.
A second source also claimed that the Kardashian-Jenner family cheekily refers to Hamilton, 41, as Kim’s “Russell Wilson” – the beloved NFL star who married singer Ciara after her divorce from rapper Future – because they see him as a “sophisticated upgrade” from West, 48.
Another reason why Kardashian and Hamilton keep their relationship light and fun is reportedly because “their schedules are very demanding right now.”
Representatives for Kardashian, Hamilton and West did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
West, who recently apologized for an anti-Semitic and racist rant during a months-long manic episode of bipolar disorder 1 in 2025, previously mocked Pete Davidson for dating Kardashian, claiming she was a gay addict with AIDS.
As for the billionaire beauty mogul, his relationship took a romantic turn shortly after they attended actress Kate Hudson’s New Year’s Eve party together in Aspen, Colorado last month.
The pair just spent a “very romantic” weekend together in Europe, trying to keep a low profile.
First, the pair reportedly stayed at a luxury hotel in England’s Cotswolds, where they relaxed with a couple’s massage, before spending some “cozy” time at a luxury hotel in London.
The couple then flew to Paris, where they enjoyed an intimate dinner with views of the Eiffel Tower.
