“Home Improvement” alum Zachery Ty Bryan was reportedly sentenced to 16 months in prison for drunk driving in 2024.
The embattled actor has pleaded guilty in Riverside County, California, to driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.15 percent or more (twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent), TMZ reported on Monday.
Brian, who entered into a plea deal, was denied probation but given 57 days of suspended sentence.
The “Long Shot” star, 44, was arrested on charges of felony DUI and misdemeanor contempt of court while driving in La Quinta, Calif., around 2:30 a.m. on February 24, 2024.
At the time, a spokesperson for the La Quinta Police Department told TMZ that officers were conducting a traffic stop and noticed a vehicle suspected of being involved in a traffic collision.
When they spoke to Brian, he showed signs of impairment and was arrested.
He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center and bail was set at $50,000, not including a $15,000 misdemeanor surcharge.
The child star posted bail on the same day.
Additionally, Brian was arrested in October 2024 in Custer County, Oklahoma on charges of DUI and driving without a license.
He told officers he had had “too much” to drink and admitted that his license revocation was due to one of his multiple drunk driving arrests.
Brian has had several run-ins with law enforcement, including in 2020 when he was arrested for allegedly nearly choking his girlfriend Johnny Faye Cartwright.
Most recently, it was revealed in November that Cartwright had been granted a five-year restraining order against Brian for punching him in the head and threatening to take his own life in July of that year.
That same month, Brian spoke out about reports of domestic violence, calling it a “painful wake-up call.”
“Fame as a child actor left a scar. Being in the spotlight at the age of nine put pressure on me that I was not equipped to handle. But it doesn’t justify my choices as an adult,” he told TMZ, adding that he “deeply” regrets his actions.
Meanwhile, Cartwright is accused of trying to run Brian over with his truck in December.
