The Hollywood star has been honored after the death of film legend Robert Redford.
On Tuesday, September 16th, the actor and director died at the age of 89 at his home in Utah.
“Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025 at his home in Sundance in the mountains of Utah. It’s a place he loved, surrounded by the people he loved.” “He’ll be overlooked a lot. The family demands privacy.”

Following the announcement of his death, many celebrities have paid tribute to the icon’s life and legacy.
In a statement shared with people, his African co-star Meryl Streep said, “One of the lions has passed away. Please rest in the peace of my lovely friend.”
“Our film “Coda” attracted everyone’s attention for Sundance. And then Sundance happened for Robert Redford. The genius has passed away. RipRobert,” actress Marlee Matlin wrote in X in relation to independent filmmakers, Composers, Composers, Composers, Composers, Sundance Institute, who became independent in 1981.

Actor and Director Ron Howard said, “#rip & Thank you, Roberto Rudford, a very influential cultural figure to launch the Sundance Film Festival, which has supercharged the creative choices created as actor/producer/director, and an independent film movement in America.
Author Stephen King also paid tribute to The Way We Way Star.
“Robert Redford has passed away. He was part of the new and exciting Hollywood of the 70s and 80s. It’s hard to believe he’s 89,” the IT creator wrote in X.

Rosie O’Donnell celebrated Redford’s romance with Barbra Streisand by sharing a photo from the film, writing, “Oh, Havel – We’re Never Same – Good Night Bob – What a Legacy ❤️🌹🥲”.
In an emotional compliment, Rita Wilson said of Redford, “Your art stands the test of time. A love for young filmmakers and artists has given us the Sundance Film Festival. You showed us the importance of nature. As a director, we were able to see your art from behind the camera.
In a similar sentiment, actor Colman Domingo wrote, “With love and admiration. Thank you, Mr. Redford, for your eternal influence. It will feel for generations. RIP.”
And in a statement shared with people, Elizabeth McGovern said: “Robert Redford gave me my first job to ordinary people. I set Hiber in terms of career afterwards. His intelligence, empathy and understanding was difficult not only as a filmmaker, but as a person. And then I respect him now.”
