Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks was spotted discreetly on the New York City subway.
The “Forrest Gump” star, 69, was photographed sitting quietly on an Uptown 6 train on Tuesday, his famous features hidden behind a medical face mask.
The actor tried to go incognito wearing a green jacket over a green beanie, glasses, and a green sweater vest.
He completed his casual ensemble with dark slacks and black loafers, and carried a green bag for the outing.
Another photo showed the Cast Away actor looking directly into the camera while holding on to a railing, while another showed the beloved star standing up and hanging onto the railing with both hands.
The father of four has been frequently spotted on the subway. On October 8, Hanks was photographed wearing a black shirt, matching pants, and a tan denim jean while riding the famous public transit system.
He also wore black combat-style boots, large headphones, and again a medical face mask. For the outing, the actor wore an olive green backpack.
The iconic ‘Phoenician Scheme’ actor was later photographed sitting on a park bench sipping a drink.
He partially removed his mask and took a sip from his cup while enjoying the view.
Hanks isn’t the only celebrity to feel sympathy after riding the subway.
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were spotted cuddling and kissing while standing on a crowded New York City subway platform in April.
“Vampire” hitmaker Olivia Rodrigo took to Instagram in December 2024 to share a series of fashionable photos taken on the subway wearing a retro white and black polka dot midi dress.
And in 2020, John Leguizamo was spotted taking a nap while sitting on a subway bench. The actor, carrying an umbrella and dressed head to toe in black, dozed off in the crowd of commuters.
Other celebrities who have hitchhiked on the subway in the past include Katie Holmes, Ron Howard, and Kevin Bacon.
