Hilary Duff stole the show late at night.
The “Lizzie McGuire” alum, 38, performed her sultry single “Roommates” on the “Tonight Show” on Monday night wearing a white gown designed to look dripping wet.
She styled a draped dress by London-based brand Di Pezza with translucent slingback pumps by Gianvito Rossi ($995).
This look was reminiscent of the music video for “Roommates,” which was released in January. In the video, Duff sings and dances barefoot in a downpour inside the apartment she shares with her partner, wearing a butter yellow asymmetrical Ronnie Cobo dress ($517).
“Fallon” achieved the drenching effect without using a single raindrop. Greek designer Dimitra Pezza’s label is known for its signature “wet look” pieces, which combine draping and stitching (without actually requiring water) to create the illusion of wet fabric clinging to your body.
Pezza exclusively told Page Six Style that the design aims to address society’s “censorship” of women’s natural bodily fluids. “If you cry in public, you have to hide it. If you sweat in public, you have to hide it. If you breastfeed in public, you have to hide it,” she said. “So what I wanted was to create a look that looked like it was wet without being wet. To celebrate being wet.”
The brand has outfitted famous fans like the Hadid sisters, Shakira and Lizzo, and each design is entirely sewn by hand and typically takes two to three weeks to create. Duff’s high-slit tank dress was shown on the runway at London Fashion Week just last month as part of Di Pezza’s fall 2026 collection.
Duff began her performance while straddling a leather chair in a bedroom-themed set, belting out the track she co-wrote with husband Matthew Koma and producer Brian Phillips.
“Roommates” is a standout song on Duff’s first album in more than a decade, “Luck…or Something,” released on February 20th. She later explained that the song was about “a ache for a wilder, freer time, before we were swallowed up by carpools, budget negotiations, and grocery shopping.”
Duff’s visit to the Tonight Show also included a talk with host Jimmy Fallon about his childhood obsession with the Olsen Twins, and a round of Warp and Sip with a sip of water.
This summer, she will embark on her first arena tour in 20 years, the Lucky Me World Tour.
