Hilary Duff playfully responded to rumors that her new comeback single “Mature” is about Leonardo DiCaprio.
“First of all, we’re most inspired by speculation,” the “Come Clean” songstress said while appearing as a guest on the radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.”
“Honestly, it’s thrilling. It’s 100 percent thrilling and the internet is a very interesting place. I’m obsessed with everyone and I watch all the videos.”
Duff’s fans thought she wrote the song about DiCaprio, 51, singing, “You’re so Leo with a Scorpio touch.”
Listeners speculated that the 38-year-old hitmaker was referring to the “Inception” star’s nickname, Leo, and his Nov. 11 birthday sign, Scorpio.
In the song, the pop star also sings about someone dating a much younger woman, saying, “It’s like she could be your daughter / Like me before I got smart / When I was happy to hear your words / You’re so mature for your age.”
The Titanic star, who is currently dating Vittoria Ceretti, 27, has been known to break up with his partners before they turn 25 or “before their prefrontal cortex is fully developed.”
Additionally, Duff sings about how DiCaprio hid his car in Carbon Beach, Malibu, California, where he owns a home.
Rumors that the actor is the man behind Duff’s song were further fueled when the Disney alum’s husband, Matthew Koma, shared a meme on social media of DiCaprio holding the album Mature.
“You can’t take Matthew’s post seriously,” Duff added on the radio show.
“He’s the biggest troll on the planet. He leads everyone down every path and has the most fun doing it.”
However, the “So Yesterday” singer refused to confirm the rumors, saying, “So, I’m not going to confirm or deny anything here.”
This is Duff’s first new song since the release of his 2015 studio album Breathe In. Breathe Out.
“Making music was a big risk for me at a young age, and it was a big part of my makeup routine for a long time,” she told Vogue in an interview published on Nov. 6.
“It was hard to leave, but I always knew I would come back whenever the timing was right.”
Duff is scheduled to release his studio album “Luck…or Something” on February 20, 2026.
