Norwegian showrunner Henriet Sternstrap’s latest TV drama, “Nepobaby,” won the best script and ensemble cast at Cannes in April, attracting a new round of new buyers ahead of Cannes’ global content market MIPCOM in October.
Nordisk Film Distribution is in charge of Nordic rights and is closed in TV2 Denmark and SVT Sweden, but the global distributor OBle is taking on a new deal with the public broadcaster CBC for Canadian CGC GEM to be Australian national fund SBS, top international fare Avid Buyers. Previous transactions were sealed on BE-TV in Belgium and Rúv in Iceland. Major Commissioner TV2 Norway will release its show domestically in October.
Jes Brandhoj, acquisition director for Nordisk Film’s Sales & Series, said the early commitment from Nordic Broadcasters was a “great vote of confidence.” “Combined with humor, heart and friendly family drama, “Nepobaby” is truly a kind of touch-heavy storytelling that connects people, and you can’t wait for it to come back to life on their platform. ”
Created by Henriet Sternstrap with “Porni” actor Vivild Faulk Berg in mind, “Nepobaby” was co-written by Siri Seljeseth and Steenstrup of “Young and Pressing” with Tina Raig. Gunnar Vikene and Hallvar Witzø are jointly coaching.

Her world turns upside down when she discovers that she is the secret daughter of the ship’s big name ludvig “doddo” bullmann and one of his heirs.
Her new wealthy brothers are played by Sternstrap, Nikolai Cleave Brooch (“Sandham Murder”), Christine Grue (“Power Play”) and Hell Rig EIA (“Peak TV”).
“It meets ‘veep’, which is made in a fun way of ‘inheritance’,” Cannell’s artistic director Alvin Lewie said last April when the world of the series premiered at Cannes. The Norwegian six will be exhibited in the panoramic section of the Celilizados Festival in Barcelona in November.
The second season is waiting for the green light. “Nepobaby” was produced by Ida Håndlykken Kvernstrøm and Bård Ljones Fjulsrud of the Oslo-based Eldorado Content Club.
At MIPCOM, Oble co-founder Katia Sol will continue to negotiate the rights to the show, following other premium shows such as “Winter Palace,” co-produced by RTS and Netflix’s Oble and Point Prod, “Jailbreak” (“Zonz”) from France, and “Noob” from New Zealand, and “Winter Palace.”
