Warwick Davis is returning to his role as Professor Filius Fritwick in HBO’s new Harry Potter TV Series the series, adapting each of JK Rowling’s seven books to individual seasons.

Professor Flitwick is back!

On Monday, September 1st, Warner Bros. announced that Warwick Davis is returning to his role as Professor Charms Phillius Flitwick in the new HBO Harry Potter TV series, an adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved book series.

“HBO’s original Harry Potter TV series announced the return of Warwick Davis as Professor Filius Flitwick today, marking his homecoming in the magical world with his role born in the film series,” the press release read. The news was announced on September 1st to coincide with returning to Hogwarts, Harry Potter’s global celebration, which marks fans return to iconic return schools at Hogwarts’ iconic school.

Davis, 55, began with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001 and ended with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2011. It ended with part 2.

The British actor is the first original movie star to be confirmed to be appearing in the series.

Lee Gill took on the role of Glyphook and six other new cast members have also been announced, including Shirin Saba, the professor of Pomona Sprout, created by Miriam Margolies.

Meanwhile, Breed Brennan will play Madame Poppy Pomphen, and Richard Darden will star as Professor Cuthbert Bins. Elijah Osin takes on the role of Harry’s friend and fellow student Dean Thomas, while Finn Stevens and William Nash take on the role of Draco Malfoy (Rocks Platt) partners, Vincent Club and Gregory Goyle.

The news comes weeks after fans first saw a glimpse of the cast during location shoots when they discovered two stars being filmed on London’s bustling streets.

Dominic McLaughlin, who plays the nominal wizard of Daniel Radcliffe’s origins, and Nick Frost, who plays Rubeus Hagrid, were seen in costume in a photo on the set on August 18th.

McCrahin, 11, wore Harry’s signature round spectacle, Frost, 53, but towered over him in Hagrid’s signature khaki coat.

“You bring something to it, so you’re cast. I really know what I’ve done before me in terms of the amazing performance of the Robbie, but I’ll never try to be a lobby,” Frost told the late Robbie Coltrane Corridor in June.

“I try to do something, not ‘not ‘no’ – I think you have to pay tribute to the subject – but I added that in it he hopes that the depiction of iconic characters is ‘interesting’.

“I want it to be funny and cheeky, scary, protective and childlike,” he said. “That’s what I’m trying to do.”

Filming for the series began in July. Other stars who joined the cast include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Eschedou as Professor Snape, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy (originated by Jason Isaacs), and Bell Paulie as Petunia Darthley (originated by Fiona Shaw).

The Harry Potter series will premiere on HBO in 2027.
