Welcome to Hogwarts! The first look at the fictional school of wizardry featured in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series has finally been released.
A photo posted on the show’s official Instagram page shows Harry (Dominic McLaughlin) walking towards the Quidditch pitch wearing a red and gold cloak representing Hogwarts’ Gryffindor house with his surname and player number written on the back. In front of him, a large group of students enter the field holding Gryffindor and Hufflepuff flags. See full photo below.
Production designer Mara Leperre-Schroup, who has worked on films such as “Interview with the Vampire” and “Pachinko,” was in charge of the exterior of the school in the new series.
Harry Potter is currently in production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK. In addition to McLaughlin, the cast also includes Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Arabella Staunton as Hermione Granger, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Papa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
