Producer Harman Baweja and director Arati Kadav have teamed up for a new film, marking their second collaboration following last year’s critically acclaimed drama, Mrs.
The two announced their reunion on the occasion of the first anniversary of ‘Mrs.’, starring Sanya Malhotra. The film became a cultural touchpoint that explored domestic identity and gender dynamics.
Produced by Baweja’s Baweja Studios with support from Jio Studios’ Jyoti Deshpande, ‘Mrs.’ received wide acclaim and multiple awards across major platforms, including Black Nights Tallinn and IFFI Goa. The film reinterprets Cho Baby’s Malayalam cult hit ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ through the framework of North Indian culture, incorporating traditions such as Karwa Chauth, and chronicling the gradual erosion of a woman’s sense of self. Baweja also served as a co-writer on the project along with Kadav.
Details of the new project have not been disclosed at this time.
“‘Mrs.’ convinced me that audiences were ready for a bold film that was both intimate and transformative,” Baweja said. “Collaborating with Arati evoked the thrill that comes from being on the same page with someone and taking on a challenge at the same time. We are excited that she will bring honesty, intelligence, and immense emotional clarity to our fresh collaboration. I’m excited to announce this on our first anniversary. When collaborations are built on trust and shared intent, it’s natural to want to create again. This next project is born out of that very belief, and I look forward to pushing the boundaries together again.”
“I feel very happy, safe, inspired and delighted to be working with Harman Baweja. He and his team, including creative producer Tasneem Lokhandwala, have always helped me do my best. As a team, we have learned a lot from each other. I feel like that’s the basis of a great relationship. It was a great collaboration, and that’s because of the team that Baweja Studios put together for me, including actress Sanya Malhotra. Studios feels like home.”
The announcement comes as Baweja Studios continues its momentum with the recent release of ‘Haq’ and aggressive development plans for 2026 which include ‘Dil Ka Darwaza Kholo Na Darling’, ‘Captain India’, ‘Boy From Andaman’ and several other projects in development.
