Hans Zimmer and his composer collective Bleeding Fingers Music will score the upcoming Netflix series All the Sinners Bleed.
As previously announced, the show is an adaptation of SA Crosby’s novel of the same name. Joe Robert Cole will adapt the book into a film, and in addition to directing the first episode and several episodes, he will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. The Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions and Amblin Television also serve as executive producers with Cosby.
“‘All the Sinners Bleed’ lives in the tension between faith, violence, and redemption, and in the moral complexity that music speaks most powerfully,” Zimmer said. “Joe Robert Cole and S.A. Cosby have created a world that is haunting, intimate, and unflinchingly human. We are proud to work with Netflix, Higher Ground, and Amblin on a series that is unafraid of discomfort and truth. This allows music to breathe in moments of silence as much as moments of chaos.”
“All the Sinners Bleed” stars Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, along with series regulars John Douglas Thompson, Nicole Beharie, Daniel Ezra, Andrea Cortez, Murray Bartlett, and Leila George. The official logline for the series reads, “Haunted by the untimely death of his godly mother, the first black sheriff (Dilys) of a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has been preying on the black community for years in the name of God.”
“Hans has created haunting themes and an immersive score that emotionally puts you into the world of the story,” Cole said. “Our series explores the bright and dark sides of us as humans, and which of us wins out. We’re thrilled that Hans and the music composers of Bleeding Fingers will collectively interpret this core conflict through music.”
Zimmer is widely regarded as one of the greatest film composers alive today and one of the greatest film composers of all time. He has been nominated 12 times for the Best Music Oscar, winning the coveted award for both The Lion King and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. He has been nominated for and won numerous other awards, including the Grammy Award, Golden Globe Award, and British Academy Award. His other notable scores include “Interstellar,” “Gladiator,” Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy, and “Inception.”
He is repped by CAA and Kleinberg, Lange, Cuddy & Carlo.
